a city wall & a trampoline RYUUSUKE AKAHARI Ryu looked at the palace wall like he was staring down the enemy. This particular patch of flat, marble-white wall was far from the entrance, and well over ten-feet high; however, it was also the only section of the palace walls not strictly guarded.
'Well? Let's go already!'
The red-head could hear his companion complain from within his backpack. The Feebas was tucked away in a small, unbreakable tank, stuffed inside his backpack. Luckily Feebas could survive on little water.
'Just because I can survive on a little bit of water doesn't make it comfortable in here you dingbat! Let's move!'
"You're not the one jumping this thing are you?!" Ryu snapped, irritably, before looking at the wall again. Taking a breath, he finally shrugged. "Yeah, let's get a move on."
'Finally!
Ryu backed up a few feet then ran at the wall, he jumped off the middle of the wall, and just made it so he could grab a hold on the edge and pull himself over - right onto a row of neatly lined, metal garbage cans.
"Think anyone heard that?" Ryu whispered, which was a bit of a moot point.
'Yeah, probably.'
The red-head darted to his feet, and quickly ran to the nearest door marked employee entrance. Inside was a storage room full of food, some of which Ryu made a point to grab. He crept his way into the kitchen area, looking to make sure there were no maids or chefs hangin around.
"Coast is clear." Ryu said with a grin, taking a bite out of the apple he'd taken from the pantry area.
'Where are we? The tresury?'
"No, kitchens, but we'll get there soon enough, right? We ought to stay here til that whole trash-can thing blows over with the guards. Besides, gotta be some silverware in a kitchen, eh?" Ryu smirked, and knew that his fishy compainion was smirking right along with him. Ryu quickly went through all of the cupboards and drawers, looking for anything valuable to put into his bag, though he didn't have enough sense to do so quietly - and various clinks, clatters, and muffled cursing could be heard even from the room outside. Nievara was hungry. No, that was an understatement, she was starving, and every thirteen year old girl needed her milk and cookies to get her through the day, right? Well, it was definitely time for Nievara's milk and cookies. Thus, she tiptoed out of her room and down the large castle stairs along with her companion, Tuxedo, down to the kitchen to ask for a cook to bring her a small snack.
She was at the door to the kitchen when she heard a loud crash, and peeked around the corner. Seeing nothing, she turned to Tuxedo and shrugged. "Wonder what that was?"
But she didn't dwell on it, she had cookies to munch on. Luckily, the castle's cooks knew when her daily snack break was, and a plate of cookies and large glass of milk was waiting for her when she entered the kitchen. It was such a lovely smell in here, though there hadn't been a meal prepared in here for a few hours now. She took a sip of milk before feeding a cookie to Tuxedo, and stuffing a second into her mouth. Taking another large swallow of milk, Nieva grabbed the plate and pushed the door open with her shoulder.
Before she stepped outside the door, a light sound of clinking metal came to Nieva's attention. "What's that noise?" she whispered to Tuxedo before turning back around, closing the door to the kitchen as quietly as possible. Tuxedo shook his head, and Nieva decided she would go investigate, her Luxray following at her heals.
She peered over a large metal counter to see a redhead teen stuffing silverware into a bag. "Scuse me, but what the hell do you think you're doing?" her language certainly didn't match her voice, which sounded like every other preteen girl, a bit quiet and high pitched, yet she had long since left her years of innocence. She'd been talking like a sailor since before she could walk, much to her parents' horror.
"You're one hell of a brave bastard to come in here at this hour," Nieva noted, crossing her arms at the boy in front of her.

Ryu had gotten quite a bit of good-looking silverware, all of it looking like it cost a small fortune. This knowledge of the value of the silverware, however, hadn't stopped the red-head from piling it into his bag like they were rocks and causing quite a bit of racket. The fact that they were illegally inside the palace, and stealing no less, didn't seem make neither human nor Pokemon any quieter.
For that reason, both of them were unprepared for the young girl's voice that suddenly cursed at them over the counter. Ryu jumped slightly, causing the silver in his bag to clink even more. He was a little put-off by the voice, and the conflicting words - he wasn't sure what to expect. But hesitating for very long wasn't his style and he turned to see who it was.
He wasn't sure whether he should be surprised or not, but he was definitely relieved. It was just a little girl. He smirked a bit, "Brave, huh? You're too young to join my fan-club, chicky." He said casually, "Geez, you got a mouth on you, I thought you were some kind of bitchy-sounding guard."
Ryu could feel his partner shifting in the small tank on his back, but the fish Pokemon kept quiet, not quite wanting to introduce himself into a situation he couldn't even see.

The pink haired girl tapped her foot loudly as she watched the boy do his business, Tuxedo growling beside her.
"Brave, huh? You're too young to join my fan-club, chicky."
Nievara scowled and crossed her arms tighter over her body, "Hah, like I'd want to do that," she snapped, running her hand over Tuxedo's tail to keep herself calm. To be honest, she was quite curious about this strange boy stealing silverware, though she didn't want to make it seem too obvious.
"Geez, you got a mouth on you, I thought you were some kind of bitchy-sounding guard." the boy said, Nievara smirked.
"Maybe I am," she said, tapping her foot louder now, "So you can go ahead and dump your bag before I make you," beside her, Tuxedo was busy clawing against the ground, his teeth bared, showing off pointy canines.
Nieva couldn't stand it anymore. She had too many questions for the boy, so she relaxed her body gently, Tuxedo doing the same. He approached the redhead and sniffed the older teen.
"So, um, where's your pokemon?" as far as Nievara was concerned, everybody in Atlantis had a companion pokemon, but this guy's seemed to have mysteriously disappeared. They couldn't be too far apart for too long, so Nieva was quite confused and much too curious to stay too mad at the boy. "I mean, you've got to have one, right? A companion, I mean,"

"Didn't think there where 10-year-old guards. Hard to get good help these days, eh? We'll if you want me to drop my bag you're going to just have to arrest me, babes." Ryu grinned cheekily. It wasn't exactly the best idea to be taunting the person who could go turn him in, but he wasn't one for people pleasing.
Luckily for Ryu, the girl seemed more interested in him than getting him in trouble. So he stood still and watched as the large electric Pokemon sniffed him. 'Wow, that Pokemon's huge, especially for such a little girl.' Ryu thought, 'Too bad Hiro couldn't evolve by level. It'll take forever to get enough Blue Pokeblock to get him to evolve.'
Ryu snapped out of his thoughts as the girl asked about his companion. A lot of people did when they saw him without one, and he once again thought about catching another Pokemon, if only to stop the questions. Then again, he kind of liked answering them.
"Damn right I have a Pokemon companion." Ryu grinned, "Only the best, little nibblet. Bet you can't guess what he is?"

"Didn't think there where 10-year-old guards. Hard to get good help these days, eh? We'll if you want me to drop my bag you're going to just have to arrest me, babes." Nievara snorted. Ten? He had to be joking.
"First off, I'm thirteen," she snapped, quite sensitive to the fact that she was much younger than most people, "Turning fourteen soon, so I'm not that little" she tossed long pink hair over her shoulder with a look of disdain, didn't this guy know any better. "As for arresting you," she turned to Tuxedo, ready to let him give a good, long, howl of alarm.
"In any case," she turned back to the boy. Beside her, Tuxedo laid down on the cold kitchen floor, deciding the boy in front of him was no real threat at all, "I'm a lot stronger than most of the guards around here, and I'm not afraid of anything,"
It was such a cliche child's sentence, but what could she say? Nievara wasn't scared of anything, at least, she didn't throw all her fears out there, and they were pretty trivial compared to most. Nievara stared at the other boy, wondering what he was thinking about, what made him want to break into the palace where there was so much security. Was he insane? Most likely.
"Damn right I have a Pokemon companion." the boy grinned. Nievara looked around, wondering if she'd simply missed it when it entered the room. "Only the best, little nibblet. Bet you can't guess what he is?"
Nievara crossed her arms, thinking about it for a second. The companion pokemon always reflected the person, so it had to be something similar to this guy. Too bad she didn't know him very well, otherwise she was sure she'd be able to guess immediatly. But there were over four hundred different species of pokemon, and Nievara found herself stumped.
She decided to go by instinct, "Well, you look like a complete idiot, and you don't look to strong," Having absolutely no idea of the boy's companion, she decided, instead, to name the most insulting she could think of, "I'll guess Magicarp," she smirked.
"It's wimpy enough for someone like you,"

"Right, little twerp with a 18 year-old's vocabulary and a 8 year-old's cup-size, figures you'd be 13." Ryu said flatly, not bothering to edit his thoughts in front of the young girl. He looked the young girl up and down, taking in her somewhat stubborn stance. At the age 13 she was 4 years older than what his sister had been when she died, and 3 years younger than what she would have been today - but something about the little chicklet set off a few of his brotherly instincts. He quickly shook his head to rid himself of that thought. He certainty didn't want any of those feelings to start coming back. "So you're stronger than a guard, are ya short-stack? Well, I don't got a very high opinion of guards to begin with."
He listened with an amused look as the girl tried to think of a Pokemon that would match him. At the guess 'Magicarp', Ryu laughed, "What, trying to make fun of me? You got a sad arsenal babes, stick to tea-parties and dollies." Ryu, meanwhile opened his bag to reveal the rectangular tank inside, floating impatiently in the water, was Hiro. He looked a bit irritated.
'I ain't a damn Magicarp.'
"He ain't a damn Magicarp." Ryu smirked confidently. He knew Hiro was an awesome Pokemon, and although they had a bit of trouble battling with no water around, the red-haired thief held the so-called 'ugliest Pokemon in the world' in very high regard.

Nievara decided this boy was quite an interesting fellow. Awfully mean, but interesting all the same. If only he would understand that, though she was thirteen, she could kick his ass in any battle.
"So you're stronger than a guard, are ya short-stack? Well, I don't got a very high opinion of guards to begin with."
Nievara smirked, "I am so stronger than a guard. I bet Tuxedo is stronger than any other pokemon on this island -- especially yours" Nievara boasted, sticking her chest out. While that wasn't entirely true, Nievara had good reason to believe that by the time she was Ryuusuke's age, she would be a hundred times stronger than he.
Nieavara couldn't help but snort in laughter at the red head's pokemon. Magikarp, Feebas, same difference, they were both pathetic as hell. "So what, I was close," Nieva scoffed, staring at the fish-pokemon flopping around in the water. It was, to be perfectly honest, a disgusting looking thing from the color to the large blue lips. "Too bad it isn't evolved yet, but I guess since a companion pokemon reflects the human, then..." she trailed off and raised her eyebrows, hinting a rude comment headed in Ryuusuke's direction, "You must not be very beautiful,"
Nievara shrugged, "Too bad, Milotic is a very pretty pokemon," at least, it was a pretty pokemon that could easily be defeated by Tuxedo in any sort of match.

"Hm, don't have a high opinion of people in general either." Ryu said, if only to make the little girl angry. She sure seemed full of self-confidence. "Now don't go saying things you don't know, babes, Feebas don't evolve with levels like most. He may not be very handy with land battles, but he's tough to beat in the water."
Hiro gave a fishy grin from inside the tank. There was definitely a type disadvantage, but Hiro wasn't one to bother with pesky things like facts. He could take on anyone.
"And, nope you weren't, little missy. Feebas, not Magicarp, no way. Hiro used to beat up Magicarp for fun." Ryu said cheekily, making Hiro laugh from the tank, sending up little bubbles.
'They couldn't do shit.'
Ignoring his companion's comments about how Magicarp fail at everything, Ryu smirked slyly at the little girl. "And shame on you Iggly-girl, trying to bash my looks? All this not doin' it for you, babes? Well now I'm insulted. I think I'll take your silverware as comp and check out, thanks. Ta."
Ryu pulled his pack back around Hiro's tank and hoisted it onto his back, pulling his loot bag over his shoulder as well, and made for the door.
