there are no cell phones or email accounts to get messages to others at the speed of light here in atlantis, however, there is always what the outside world calls 'snail mail', but writing a letter here is a whole lot faster here when it's traveling by pidgeot-express.

the phones in atlantis are more live live chat or video chat in the outside world. every phone has a small screen where you can see the person you're talking to as you jabber away on the phone, no matter where you are in the region. the only downside is, they're not exactly portable...

the northern district is much less tropical than the rest of the island. though not much cooler, many parts of the district are affected by volcanic ash left over from the eruption many years ago. the volcanic ash is much like snow and lessens the sun's rays, giving much of the northern district a different feel than the rest of the island. the northern district is also the business section of the city. there are tall sky scrapers and office buildings that cover the area.

imagine palm trees in everybody's front yard, and stores that sell beach gear and popsicles. that's the western district for you. everything around here is calm, cool, and completely picturesque. there's rarely a cloud in the sky over the western district and those who live here rarely do more than wash their dishes.

the eastern side of the island has large cliffs that jut out of the ground and go down into the water. The lower cliffs are a great spot for cliff diving, though only the biggest daredevils take the challenge of divingoff the higher cliffs. the highest cliff is a great place for picnics, a bit windy, but the view is beautiful.

being a tropical island, the coast of the island is all but covered in sandy beaches. the best beach, however is the beach, aptly named due to being the most popular beach among the islanders.

we all love a good forum game every once in a while. and this is the place to play them. in character games and out of character games are greatly appreciated as long as nobody spams the board up.
